Bringing Everything Back Together

I've spent the last few days doing a lot of work on this website. For a while, I was going in the opposite direction, giving different projects their own websites. But the more I built, the more scattered everything started to feel.

I've spent the last few days doing a lot of work on this website.

For a while, I was going in the opposite direction. Different projects were getting their own websites. The Night Hours Registry had its own site. My worldbuilding projects had their own sites. It made sense at first, especially because each project has such a different identity.

But the more I built, the more scattered everything started to feel.

So I changed my mind.

I've brought everything back under thejohnparis.com.

The Night Hours Registry now lives here. My fictional worlds live here. My videos, travel stuff, art, journal, games, and whatever else I decide to make all live here too.

I didn't want that to mean everything suddenly had to look the same, though.

If you enter the Night Hours Registry, it still feels like the Night Hours Registry. If you wander into Earth//2100, the whole site changes into that world. Talos has its own fantasy look. Mordryn gets darker. They're basically little websites living inside this one.

I like that a lot more.

This site has never really been about one specific thing because I'm not interested in only doing one specific thing. Sometimes I'm thinking about getting back on the road. Sometimes I'm researching UFOs or some bizarre piece of history. Sometimes I'm building a fantasy world, messing around in Blender, playing a game, making art, or starting another project I absolutely did not need to start.

That's probably not going to change.

So instead of trying to separate all of those things, I'm leaning into it.

This is my place on the internet.

You can come here to see what I'm working on, read something I've written, watch something I've made, fall into one of the fictional worlds I'm building, disappear down a strange rabbit hole with me, or just see where I've ended up lately.

There's still plenty I want to change and add. The van is still waiting for me to get back on the road. The Night Hours Registry is just getting started. The worlds are nowhere close to finished and probably never really will be.

But the website finally feels like it's heading in the right direction.

Now I can get back to actually making things.

A Lot Is Changing

It's been a pretty busy stretch lately, and I figured it was time for another update. The biggest new thing is The Night Hours Registry.

It's been a pretty busy stretch lately, and I figured it was time for another update.

The biggest new thing is The Night Hours Registry.

I've wanted a place where I could dig into the kinds of things I've always been interested in like horror, mysteries, folklore, strange history, paranormal stories, unexplained phenomena, and just generally weird stuff. Instead of trying to force all of that into one specific kind of video or project, I decided to build something around it.

The Night Hours Registry is now live, and the first Registry entry, Where Halloween Came From, was published today. I'm also working on the first issue of the Night Hours Registry zine, which I'm planning as a Halloween 2026 release.

It's still very new. I'm building it as I go, figuring out what works, and seeing what it eventually becomes. That's part of what makes it interesting to me.

At the same time, I'm still working toward getting back on the road.

The van has been an ongoing project for a while now, but I'm getting closer to the point where I can actually use it for what I originally wanted: traveling, exploring places, finding strange things, making videos, and generally seeing where the road takes me.

That's also where I think a lot of the things I've been working on are starting to connect.

I don't really want to lock myself into being just a "van life channel," a gaming channel, a paranormal channel, or any other single thing. I like too many different things for that.

I want to travel. I want to explore weird places. I want to make things. I want to build fictional worlds. I want to research strange history and unexplained stories. Sometimes I want to make videos about it. Sometimes I want to write about it. Sometimes I just want to disappear into Blender or a worldbuilding project for a few days and see what comes out of it.

That's really what this website is supposed to be.

thejohnparis.com is the home for all of it.

The individual projects can have their own identities and their own places, but this is where everything connects back to me and what I'm doing.

There are still a lot of things in motion right now. The van isn't on the road yet. The Night Hours Registry is only just beginning. I've got more creative projects than I probably have any business working on at once.

But things are moving.

And I'm looking forward to seeing where all of this goes.

A New Home on the Web

I've been working on putting together a proper home for everything I do online. Instead of having everything scattered across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and everywhere else, I wanted one place that could bring it all together.

I've been working on putting together a proper home for everything I do online. Instead of having everything scattered across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and everywhere else, I wanted one place that could bring it all together.

This site is going to be a little bit of everything, because that's pretty much how I approach life. Travel, van life, places I visit, things I find interesting, projects I'm working on, random adventures, and whatever else happens along the way.

The site itself is still growing, but the foundation is finally coming together. I'll use this journal for updates that don't necessarily need to become a full video or social media post—and probably for some longer thoughts when I have something worth writing about.

For now, consider this the beginning.
