01
Privacy on this website
This is a personal website for John Paris. The site does not ask visitors to create accounts, submit personal information through forms, or provide information in order to browse its pages.
I do not currently use my own advertising trackers or analytics services on this site, and the site does not intentionally set cookies for visitor tracking. If those practices change in the future, this statement will be updated.
02
Hosting and technical information
This website is hosted by Neocities. Like other hosting and internet infrastructure providers, services involved in delivering a website may process technical information necessary to provide and secure their services. Those systems are operated by their respective providers and are outside my direct control.
03
Third-party content and services
Some parts of this site connect to third-party services. For example, video thumbnails are loaded from YouTube, the Explore map uses OpenStreetMap map tiles and Leaflet resources, and links may take you to YouTube, Discord, Patreon, Fourthwall, Instagram, TikTok, X, OpenStreetMap or other external websites.
When your browser loads content from a third party, or when you choose to follow an external link, that provider may receive information such as your IP address, browser or device information and may use cookies or other technologies according to its own policies. I do not control the privacy or data practices of those external services.
04
Contacting me
The Contact page provides email addresses for business inquiries and viewer suggestions, as well as a link to the John Paris Discord community. If you contact me by email, I will receive the information you choose to include in your message. Your email provider and the services used to deliver the message may also process that communication under their own policies.
If you contact or participate through Discord or another linked platform, your activity is governed by that platform's terms and privacy practices.
05
Strange & Unexplained community submissions
Community story submissions are handled through the JP Submission Bot in the John Paris Discord community rather than through a form hosted directly on this website. A submission may include a story title, category, written account, approximate date and location, a public name or alias, and optional supporting photos, video, audio, documents or other media.
Submitters may choose to be credited publicly by a name or alias or as Anonymous. Anonymous public attribution does not make the submission anonymous to the private review system: the submitter's Discord identity remains available to John and authorized staff for administration, moderation, communication and recordkeeping.
Submission records may include the permissions selected by the submitter, media privacy/redaction instructions, revision history, review status, private staff notes and communication history. Private Discord identity, staff notes, moderation information, private contact history and private/review-only supporting material are not intended to be included in the public Community Stories data exported to this website.
Written-story permissions and media permissions are handled separately. A submitter can choose whether the written story may be used on the website, YouTube or a future podcast, and whether supporting media is private/review-only, may be published as-is, or may be published only after requested privacy editing. Approval of a story does not by itself authorize public use of attached media.
A submission can be withdrawn through the self-service system before it has been published or incorporated into released content. Once a story has been published on the website or used in a released YouTube video or podcast episode, ordinary self-service withdrawal is no longer available and already-published material will not ordinarily be removed retroactively. Special circumstances can be raised directly with John or an administrator for individual review.
Community stories are presented as personal accounts submitted by community members. Publication does not mean that the events described have been independently verified unless the accompanying material specifically says otherwise.
06
External links
Links to other websites are provided to help visitors find my channels, community, merchandise, supporter pages and other relevant resources. A link does not mean that I control the linked website or its privacy, security, availability, content or policies. Once you leave this site, the terms and policies of the destination service apply.
07
Site content and use
Unless otherwise noted, original text, branding, graphics and other original material published on this website belong to John Paris. Third-party names, logos, game titles, video thumbnails, maps and other third-party material remain the property of their respective owners.
This site is provided for personal, informational and entertainment purposes. Information may be changed, corrected or removed as the site develops. External services and links may also change or become unavailable without notice.
